The exhibition catalogue for “O que faz falta” wins an award at the CCP Festival 2026
The project accompanied the exhibition of the same name, “O que faz falta — 50 years of Portuguese architecture in democracy”, produced by Casa da Arquitetura and curated by architects Jorge Figueira (curator) and Ana Neiva (assistant curator), and offers a reflection on five decades of social, cultural and architectural context in Portugal, from the April Revolution to the present day.
According to the official description of the award, the book departs from the traditional model of an exhibition catalogue and approaches the form of an artistic object, through a graphic and material narrative that favours a free, fluid and non-linear reading experience. The publication also explores the relationship between literature, cinema, architecture and visual essay, questioning the classical hierarchy of works and valuing the reader’s physical experience.
The project was honoured at the CCP Festival 2026, an initiative of the Clube da Criatividade de Portugal, currently part of the international platform of The One Club for Creativity. The work received the Bronze Winner award in the Editorial & Publications / Book category. Among the creative credits, Ana Resende and João Castro stand out for their artistic direction, accompanied by designers Rita Constante and Eunice Bastos.
The award reinforces the international recognition of Portuguese editorial design and also highlights the role of Casa da Arquitectura in promoting editorial projects that combine research, critical thinking and contemporary visual culture. As an institution dedicated to the dissemination and promotion of architecture, Casa da Arquitectura has increasingly established publishing as an extension of its curatorial programme and of the public debate surrounding architecture and contemporary society.
