The call for projects for the 14th edition of the Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (BIAU) is now open

The application deadlines are 2 July 2026 for the Buildings category, 6 July 2026 for Publications, and 7 July 2026 for the Ibero-American Architecture and Urbanism Lifetime Achievement Award. The evaluation process will take place during July and the results will be announced in September.

Among the curators of the 14th BIAU is Nuno Sampaio, architect and executive director of Casa da Arquitectura. The curatorial team also includes Carlos Quintáns Eiras, architect, lecturer and curator; Fernando Serapião, editor, researcher and architecture critic; Matheus Seco Ferreira and Daniel Mangabeira da Vinha, founding partners of the BLOCO Arquitetos studio; and Luciana Saboia, architect, researcher and lecturer at the University of Brasília.

Organised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, in collaboration with the Higher Council of Architects’ Associations of Spain and with the support of the ARQUIA Foundation, the BIAU has established itself, since its creation in 1998, as one of the main platforms for the recognition, debate and promotion of architecture and urban planning within the Ibero-American community.
