Vinhos de Portugal brings together wine, architecture and literature
Architecture and the relationship between wine, territory and landscape will take centre stage at the 13th edition of Vinhos de Portugal no Brasil, which takes place from 5 to 7 June at the Jockey Club Brasileiro in Rio de Janeiro.
The big new feature of this edition is the “Portugal à Prova” space, which reinforces the cultural dimension of the event with a programme dedicated to architecture, literature, gastronomy and travel, promoting discussions on landscape, heritage and Portuguese identity. Among the guests is Nuno Sampaio, executive director of Casa da Arquitectura, who will take part in sessions exploring the relationship between architecture, the city and the landscape.
On 6 June, Nuno Sampaio joins Guilherme Wisnik, José Pessoa and Alexandra Prado Coelho for a discussion on the relationships between the countryside, the city and infrastructure in Portugal and Brazil, addressing the similarities and differences between architectural expressions on both sides of the Atlantic, from Lucio Costa’s travels to Portugal to the present day.
The programme concludes on 7 June with “Poesia de morar”, a conversation between Eucanaã Ferraz and Nuno Sampaio, once again moderated by Alexandra Prado Coelho, dedicated to literature, poetry and the ways in which writing engages with themes such as the home, the city, architecture and travel.
The event is organised by the newspapers O GLOBO, Valor Económico and Público, in partnership with ViniPortugal.
